Miss Modish's Nifty Gifties: #2

"Good Gifties" has quickly changed to "Nifty Gifties" because, hey- it rhymes. And it also makes me think of "thrifty". And that, I've decided, is what will be the common thread between all my gift-giving recommendations- they'll be priced real nice.

I saw this calendar via Design Crush and bought it just short of a quick minute. It's 8 dollars and it's gorgeous! Based on astrological signs, instead of months, it's black and white and starry and I just love it. Perfect for anyone who appreciates a good night sky.

Oh, Olive Manna, I fell in love with you instantly. With a beautifully curated selection of  supplies, paper goods and packaging, this shop inspires me to create, to give gifts and make things pretty. And the product photography is so gorgeous, I could just live in it. Good job Olive Manna momma- your shop is gorgeous!

Happy weekend (with a pop-up postcard!)

Greetings from beautiful Portland, OR! Isn't this pop-up postcard by Man vs. Ink just the cutest? Brings back memories of how much I used to love pop-up books when I was a kid. Do they still make pop-up books? I sure hope so!

The clouds are coming, the air is cooling and fall is definitely in the air here- and I love it! We have big plans of finding the mister something to wear to our wedding this weekend- wish us luck! I hope you have a good weekend and see you back here on Monday!

Eco-Friendly Find: Ethel and Iris

I have many weaknesses when it comes to the world of handmade, but woodland creatures and stitching as drawing are both pretty far up on the list.

Ethel and Iris create hand-stitched wonders on recycled cards for you to give or frame. All the cards and envelopes are 100% recycled stock, and their packaging is corn starch based, and therefore biodegradable. Little scraps—a piece of ribbon here, a bit of felt there—embellish the cards, and the animals are just perfectly stitched. Gotta love those sequin eyes!

Saratops

Not only is the shop name Saratops just the cutest, but all the goodies found inside are too! Gift tags made from security envelopes, notebooks made out of old library cards, garland made from old maps- everything is earth-friendly, clever and oh so cute!

Eco-Friendly Find: zoetropa

Oh, I love love love these notecards from zoetropa. All the cards and envelopes are 100% recycled paper, and are hand block printed using hand-carved printing blocks and acid free water based inks. Plus, they are super fun.

Personally, my favorites are the ones with repeating patterns, like the pencils and cottages above. Such perfect colors...these remind me that I need to head on over to the post office, pick up some stamps, and start writing real letters again.
