I just discovered this beautiful French blog by a beautiful French shopkeep with two beautiful French cats. The kitten makes me "squee!" outloud, and doesn't that grey one look so regal and luxurious?

Oh, enjoy these last days of summer as it's slowly, but surely, slipping right through our fingertips. As the days continue to shorten, one by one, I want to bare my skin and soak in the sun, find a body of water to jump into and smell fresh cut grass at least one more time.

Happy weekend! This week flew by for me. Guess that's what happens when you have marriage on the brain! This weekend we'll be shopping shopping, and hopefully getting outside a bit too- it's gorgeous! What are your plans? Maybe go play some badminton, inspired by the adorable shuttlecock print above by my ever-so-talented guest writer Renee! I haven't played lawn games since I was a kid, how fun! Do you have any lawn game favorites?

The shining star in my garden right now is definitely this lupine flower. So gorgeous! I bought it on a whim when it was a little green baby not knowing a) what the heck a lupine is, or b) what color it would be. So to see this amazing stalk of violet and white shoot up was a really lovely surprise. And watching the bumblebees bob around and pollinate each little bloom is so awesome. Now I wish I bought half a dozen of them!
Well, this week has been one of the most awesome weeks I've had in a long time and it's not just because the weather has been uh-mazing (which it has.) I have a big surprise to share with you next Monday, so be you check in to see what's goin on! Until then, hope you have a happy weekend!

I leave you with these stunning floral illustrations from the 18th and 19th century that I found over at the Royal Horticultural Society. The RHS is a UK based gardening charity "dedicated to advancing horticulture and promoting good gardening." They have a collection of hundreds of images like these that are available as prints. I'm thinkin' I want some for my bathroom, they're so gorgeous!

The kitties are enjoying the sun, and I'm off to do the same! This weekend's big plans are to sip some cocktails, take some photos, take a walk, add more flowers to garden and maybe even paint the last wall we need to get done in the living room. Oh, and there's the garage full of boxes we still need to unpack. Oi. We'll wait for a cloudy day for that one :) Hope you have a lovely weekend!

Hot damn it's been a loooong past couple weeks for us around here, verging from the pretty awful to the overwhelmed to totally excellent! But although it ended well, long is long and we are exhausted.
I wish I could hop into one of these pretty watercolor paintings by Laura Trevey for a few hours to just relax, close my eyes and listen to the waves, drink a tropical cocktail concoction and pass out in the warm sun. Ahh...
But that's only gonna happen in my dreams, because tomorrow we start packing up the house for our move. Packing and moving is pretty much the suckiest way I can think of to spend a weekend (and another weekend, and probably another weekend) but at least it will be the last time we have to move for (hopefully) a very long time!

Ever have one of those weeks that sucks all the life out of you in an utterly exhausting way and you just kinda want to crawl in a hole and die for awhile and you have PMS on top of it? Yeah, me too. But I'm very glad it's almost over. And hey, at least it's sunny outside!
To give a little smile to my Friday I went and picked some flowers from the yard. Hoping they'll give you a smile too!
