Last week, I got to work on a new painting for my class. I will probably have only paintings to share for make/do over the next few weeks until class is over, as I don't really have time to make anything else. I still have lots of details I'd like to add to this piece, definitely still working on it! But here's what a couple hours got me :)
Did you do something creative last week just for fun? Try a new recipe? Make some Valentines? Do tell! And if you have a link to a project you'd like to share, feel free leave it for us to check out in the comments below.
If you'd like to join in next week, go ahead and make/do something creative for at least an hour this week, just for fun, and tell us about it right here next Tuesday. Happy creating!
i love your sweet paintings. i've been trying to do a bit more making, too. last week, a few valentine-y projects: http://readingmytealeaves.blogspot.com/2011/02/anon.html and http://readingmytealeaves.blogspot.com/2011/02/heart-strings.html

I made a few little, cherry tarts: http://waysideviolet.com/2011/02/14/valentine-projects-cherry-tarts/
While they were in the oven, I gathered up some hand-me-down fabric and lockects I've been hoarding and made this little garland: http://waysideviolet.com/2011/02/12/valentine-project-fabric-flower-garland/

I made valentines, including an officially nerdy Star Wars reference of a Tauntaun that met with much applause from my boyfriend.
See all of them here:

I love your painting, how cool! I love the stars and universe... Great! Makes me want to take a class. I have a degree in Art, but I am just terrible at figure drawing. Always have been sad to say... You've inspired me to look for a figure drawing class...maybe some more practice will make perfect. Ha! Ok probably not perfect, but at least a little better would be wonderful!
This past week I really worked on my blog, tried to post at least once a day. It was a lot of work, but it was fun! I made brownies and fondue last night for Valentines Day. I have been on a total baking streak, even come strawberry dumplings last week. :-)

Very cool :) I've been working hard on a logo for a friend's new business. Can't show it just yet, but so far it's coming out really really good.

What a cozy little house!
I made a skirt for my daughter and she hates it. Oh well. I'll have to write about what to do with crafted clothes your kids refuse to wear another time. Has to be a problem for someone else too...

You're so sweet. I am lucky my husband works at the community college here, so I get a discount on classes. I'm going to check to see if they have one. I'm totally addicted to baking right now, but I know in a couple of weeks I'll get tired and just want some store bought cookies and pudding pops!!! Ha!

I like the painting! Very creative.
The weather finally warmed up a bit. Here's the project I've been working on: http://thatolthing.blogspot.com/2011/02/framed-riddle.html
I'm not great a making something out of nothing, but I do like making something great out of something thrifted.
Happy painting!

I like what you said about just doing something creative for an hour. That's all we can do sometimes. A few minutes here, a moment there. And before you know it, you have a blue comet streaking across a glowing forest...

I love the orb-y nature of your painting! It's very appealing to the eye. :)
I started a project that I've been working on pretty exclusively lately - a plush art doll! My first one. I've been blogging about him too. His name is Eustace. Here's my latest post on him: http://www.flightofthepook.com/2011/02/eustace-is-too-sexy-for-his-shirt.html
Keep up the crafty artistic goodness!!

Last week I made Erin(from Reading My Tea Leaves)'s biscuits and cut them into heart shapes for Valentines Day. They were a success!! You can check them out here:

I've been really inspired by a few bloggers, you being one of them, to tackle some of the things I've always wanted to do. First, I really want to learn more about graphics, so that I can do a lot of my blog design!
