It has really started to feel like winter here over the past few days. The now clear skies have given way to a sharp December nip in the air. And the wind has been hooowwling. Throwing the chimes around like ragdolls. Ripping the last leaves off the trees, stripping them down to their bare skins.
But I don't mind you, winter.
You make home feel like a glowing light, a rescue from the wicked air.
You make home feel like family, warm blankets and soft nuzzles.
You make home feel exactly like the place I always imagined home to be.
So I welcome you, dear winter. Into my wool-clad arms.
I love those photos and I couldn't agree more. I love spending the winter months hibernating inside. The coziness that winter brings is something to be cherished.

So true ! Since I moved from Wisconsin - which gets pretty cold - I miss winters , the snow ,ah ! I miss the snow , never thought I'd say it . Sydney is lovely , but I still can't get used to Christmas on a hot sunny day !
I'm sure it'll grow on me , just like the winter in Wisconsin did . Still wanna see snow :)

Your words make want to embrace the cold, instead of fight it. Thank you for the lovely thoughts and images on this blustery Monday morning!

Finally I can come out of the closet and say proudly that I am a winter girl through and through!!!
I love the cold, I love the snow, I love everything about winter, in fact it is my favourite season. Sometimes I feel so odd admitting it cos so many people love the summer! But give me October to March all year round!!! Thankfully, living in the UK we have coldness as standard!!
Woohoo for winter!!...and thanks Jena for posting such amazing photos :-)

Ah, I love this! Both the pictures (amazing) and the sentiment (accurate and sweet). I too love the way winter makes "home" seem so extra special.

I am such a sucker for old photographs. I think I like the mystery behind who the people are in the photograph and what they were doing there. These are some really great finds. Love the blue one!
