The ever-awesome Liz, my weekly eco-friendly guest blogger here, has really outdone her awesomeness this year. She's rounded up an amazing group of artists and crafters from her earth-friendly marketplace, Cosa Verde, and together they've donated $1600 worth of amazing handmade goods! And as much as we'd like to keep them all for ourselves, we're giving everything away to you lucky readers!
Liz will be splitting up the goodness into 4 packages worth about $400 each! That means 4 of you have a chance to win a share of all of this! (click pics for larger view)

Posted by: Account Deleted | Apr 12, 2010 at 09:01 AM
Love the "Lavendar and Lilac Pouch" from Pouch. Made from pieces of fabric salvaged from other projects it very much reminded me of the ingenuity of my grandmothers, who made amazingly beautiful clothes and lovely, practical household items from scraps of fabric.

The Wyoming primitive barnwood birdhouse with recycled license plate roof at http://cosaverde.com/store/barnwood4u/5266/ is simply charming! It would look great in my backyard in San Luis Obispo, CA!

The beautiful reclaimed oak stool by peg and awl is made from repurposed, salvaged wood, saving space in a landfill and trees in a forest.
Posted by: Wehaf | Apr 12, 2010 at 10:36 AM
Pica pica's Emma necklace is a lovely example of repurposing - here old buttons are given new life as a beautiful piece of jewelry.
Posted by: Wehaf | Apr 12, 2010 at 10:38 AM
I would die for the Lichen Lavender Pincushion 4 from http://cosaverde.com/store/ottoman/5562/ ... and I'm not ever a sewer!! What a cute and whimsical way to store pins!

The repurposed typewriter key earrings from swan river stone are charming and a great way to keep little bits and pieces out of a landfill. Every little bit helps.
Posted by: Wehaf | Apr 12, 2010 at 10:43 AM
I visited many of the stores but one that I fell for is bungaloe and the clutch "the broome street clutch in cream fleather". It is made from biodegradable material and handmade!
Posted by: Mia | Apr 12, 2010 at 10:44 AM
Western Art Glass. I love that he uses recycled glass to make such nifty jewelry and mobiles. If I had to pick a favorite, which I'm not so good at, it would be the Elf Leaf and Seeds necklace.
Posted by: Sarah | Apr 12, 2010 at 10:46 AM
Loglike graphics makes cool t-shits, with graphics like logs and sawbenches (my favorite!) using organic materials and sustainable processes.

I love the Brown Organic Linen 9-Patch Pocket Tote Bag from sheree's atelier. It is not only lovely, but made using sustainable processes and materials, including organic linen and cotton scraps.
Posted by: Wehaf | Apr 12, 2010 at 11:10 AM
I could wax poetic for days about tickled pink knits. Everything in the shop is lovely, and I want it all. But let's stick to the Jasmine Green Tea Shrug. It's gorgeous, the drape is lovely, and it would be incredibly flattering on just about anyone. It's also organic, vegan, handmade, conflict-free, and fair-trade. In other words, in every possible way it makes my progressive heart go pitter-patter. I'd better start saving my silver pennies, because I am sure this shrug is from fairyland.
Posted by: Wehaf | Apr 12, 2010 at 11:13 AM
Could the spring willow scarf from designs by erin be any more ethereal or lovely? I doubt it. And since it is made using sustainable materials and a sustainable process (handknitting) it could hardly be any more sustainable, either.
Posted by: Wehaf | Apr 12, 2010 at 11:15 AM
Who knew old recycled zippers could be so lovely? The Royal Blue and Brown Wrist Corsage made by megan leone from repurposed materials is absolutely charming and covetable.
Posted by: Wehaf | Apr 12, 2010 at 11:16 AM
The Ginkgo Leaf Mobile from western art glass could be straight from the 1920s, except that it is made from reclaimed bottle glass. Even though glass is easily recycled, much of it is thrown away instead; kudos to western art glass to salvaging beer bottles for their glass (and for using lead free solder).
Posted by: Wehaf | Apr 12, 2010 at 11:25 AM
Mitchell glasswork's smooshed Large Wine Bottle Cheese Plate is not only recycled, it is recyclable. So if it breaks, you can just toss it in the green bin and get another one. It's green forwards and backwards, and a great conversation piece. What's not to love?
Posted by: Wehaf | Apr 12, 2010 at 11:29 AM
wow--what a great giveaway! I love the recycled scarves from pica pica! Also love the sweet cloth napkins from Sheree's Atelier. I'd love to switch my family from using paper towels and go totally cloth. Thanks for the lovely goodies.

ottoman's lovely stuffed mushroom pins not only would make sewing more fun and would be harder to lose, but being made of repurposed materials, they're earth friendly.
Posted by: Wehaf | Apr 12, 2010 at 11:56 AM
sparkle power's bouncy bunny softies are so charming they'll bring out the little kid in anyone. Made of vintage fabrics, they're hand embroidered for extra whimsy.
Posted by: Wehaf | Apr 12, 2010 at 12:00 PM
What an awesome round up of talent. We live in a great time where such amazing artists can get this kind of exposure. If I had to pick one favorite, it would be the hymnal garland. It is so feminine and simplistic, I'd love to drape it over a soorway in my cottage!
Posted by: ann | Apr 12, 2010 at 12:03 PM
This Hard Cover Journal with Ducklings makes me feel better about my lack of get-up-and-go in the morning. The fact that nicopapergoods made it partially from recycled children's clothes makes me feel better about the the world.

curlymonkey's Blue bird organic baby hat is not only 100% certified organic, but it's fair trade, too. So it's cute, good for the earth, and good for the earth's people.
Posted by: Wehaf | Apr 12, 2010 at 12:18 PM
Little Batch Botanicals' Sandalwood Fig Hand and Body Skin Cream sounds dreamy, not only because of the scent, but because it is vegan, paraben-free, cruelty-free, and comes and recyclable packaging.
Posted by: Wehaf | Apr 12, 2010 at 12:22 PM
pica pica's scarves are quirky and original, and made from recycled materials to boot!

This Lavender and lilac vintage fabric clothespin bag from pouch is made from vintage materials (not only the fabric, but the wooden hanger) and it will encourage you to use the clothesline instead of the dryer, saving energy and reducing your carbon footprint.
Posted by: Wehaf | Apr 12, 2010 at 12:34 PM
I have fallen in love with the Kids Journal @ Nicopapergoods for the most simple reaso: my 2 and 1/2 year old loves drawing/painting/creating. I want to always promote that in her life. A fabulous handmade journal of her own is so dead on. Keeps her entertained with style without plugging in! Bonus = it is made from sourced childrens clothing as well as using eco friendly ways to put together a book. Well done!

First visit is to TortillaGirl-- my favorite is her Tuileries Linen Dress. I like that she used a natural fiber, and made it from locally sourced materials, which would save on the environmental impact of transporting the goods.
Posted by: Becky | Apr 12, 2010 at 02:48 PM
KristinaMarie this time--my favorite actually is the hymnal garland. I like that she was able to recycle a book that otherwise probably would have gotten tossed out. Plus it's got music printed all over it, and I have a definite bias to that since I'm a musician myself!
Posted by: Becky | Apr 12, 2010 at 02:49 PM

Posted by: Becky | Apr 12, 2010 at 02:57 PM
Woohoo! What an awesome giveaway. I visited Figs & Ginger, and my favorite piece was the adorable Nesting Necklace. It's eco-friendly because they make the pieces by hand using 50% recycled silver.

I love this sweet softie wabbit named Lilly from chunkychooky. Made from upcycled curtains and corduroy scraps, they put the 'R' back in reuse, and its so refreshing to think of a baby cuddling up to something plush rather that something plastic! And such a cute design! Love it!!
