Handmade Spaces: Pixie Blossoms
Feeling myself in total disarray, let's take a look at someone much more organized than I, Zee from Pixie Blossoms! Zee is originally from Brazil and has an incredibly colorful and inspiring space that reflects her Latin heritage. Let's take a little tour, shall we?
What do you create in this space?
I create totes and pouches for my little Etsy shop, decorations for my children's rooms like mobiles, things for my home, collages and I hope to create much more in the future.
Where is it located?
It is in a room in my home and it faces the laundry room. It's a very small room and I plan to open one of the walls in the future to connect to the empty room right beside it- that way I can set up a play room for my children so we can work together. I also would like to have a door to the outside and have some sort of porch where I can have a little table and chairs for a tea time, bird houses and a small garden under the aspen trees!! So dreamy!
What sort of tools/equipment do you use?
The main tool is my Janome Harmony 8080, a sewing machine that I have had since 2003 and I bought it to make curtains for my son's room. I also have lots of tools for sewing, paper cutters, brushes and a tool that my husband got for me last year to attach grommets on fabric- what is that called? A grommet machine?
:)

What inspirations do you keep nearby?
Books and magazines are a must have in the room. I am a very visual person and every time I need some inspiration I look at them. I also love the nature and I will always have flowers by the window.
What do you like to listen to/watch while creating?
Sometimes I like the silence, but usually I need some dance music and it seems that I do better when listening to it. If it moves my body, it moves my brain! Samba, Bossa Nova, Rock...happy and cheerful are the best.
How do you feel when you enter your handmade space?
I feel really good there. It's a room that I always wanted to have. Since the wedding we've been moving homes every year due to my husband's job. We finally settled down in Flagstaff, AZ and I got motivated to start the decorations of this room. I would like to make changes in the future, but for now I do feel happy and motivated when I enter this room. It has the colors I like and a playful girly mood, I think.

What beautiful photos of a wonderful space! I'm jealous, Zee! Be sure to check out all the lovely bags that Zee creates, for sale in her etsy shop, and learn more about her and her work at pixieblossoms.com!
